Violin lessons from Juilliard trained concert violinist

Hello,
My name is Suyeon and I'm a professional concert violinist who has a bachelors and masters degree from the Juilliard School as well as an artist diploma/konzertexamen from Hans Eisler in Berlin. I studied under Itzhak Perlman since the age of 16 and under Don Weilerstein since the age of 15. For a time, I traveled the world to play concerts and recently I got married And have decided to slow down a bit. I have recently moved to Geneva for my husband and would love to teach. I have taught quite a bit in New York (all ages and all levels), many of those students were directly sent to me from Itzhak Perlman. I live in nyon but can be mobile. My fee is 100 an hour but can be negotiated. I am fluent in Korean and English, and French is proficient but not fluent. Please PM me for more details! I am currently teaching at international school of Geneva.

Hi!
I'm a Juilliard trained classical violinist. My mentor for 10 years was Itzhak Perlman and Don Weilerstein. Until recently, concertizing has been my priority while teaching on the side, but these days I have been wanting to teach more! Teaching the next generation of musicians has always been a dream and I love teaching young kids but I believe that you can start music at any age! I always want to motivate people into loving music like I do!

Commentaires (1)

Private violin lessons, Music Theory, Technical and Musical Skills
My goal is to make people of all ages and levels learn not only playing an instrument but how can music help them in their everyday life. I am an Albanian violinist, with a Bachelor degree in Classical Music (Violin) and Musicologie in Sorbonne University. Over the years, my experiences with different youth and professional orchestras all around Europe have made me understand that music is important not only for professional musicians but also for everyone. I can teach in English or French and of course in my mother tongue Albanian.

Violin lessons online for Beginners/ Advanced / Aspiring violinists
I am currently an intern at the Rheinische Philharmonie State Orchestra. I also perform as a soloist and as a chamber musician. Most recently with the Vratz Symphony Orchestra. I lectured at a music school in Düsseldorf and Velbert and also teach in Essen. I have been awarded first prizes at international competitions several times and regularly perform in classical and jazz/pop formations. Beginners, advanced violinists and aspiring violin students are in good hands with me. All aspects of violin playing such as technique, intonation, register playing, vibrato etc. including compositions from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries are integrated as well as modern styles from the 20th or 21st centuries. Playing the violin should be fun for my students, so in addition to the technique of playing, musical expression is also taught with this versatile instrument. I approach my younger students with creativity and empathy. Ambitious students learn the classical and romantic violin literature required for their studies. If desired, the students can take part in competitions such as “Jugend musiziert”, auditions or Prepared entrance exams at German music universities. I look forward to your inquiry! Lessons are possible in German, English and French.

Professional violinist is giving lessons of violin online! Learn to play violin and enjoy every lesson! 😊
In this violin course you will learn a foundation in learning one of the most rewarding instruments in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Grip the bow, hold the violin, have the perfect hand position and enjoy playing the strings while learning how to read the notes, the violin rhythm and technique. Students will generally learn better if they feel a connection developing with their teacher, whether that’s through humour, showing care about their development, or making sure teacher devote time equally to all students when in a group. You will not regret. 😊

Violin lessons, intermediate - advanced (in English, German or Russian)
I am a professional violin and viola teacher based in Zurich, teaching in person at students' location or online, in English, German or Russian. (Reviews below) As well as instrumental teaching and ensemble coaching of at all levels over the last 12 years, I’ve led numerous professional workshops, including ‘Music First’ and ‘Music Masters’ workshops in London and was an assistant on the Primary Arpeggione viola course and at the Springgrove music competition. As a member of the European String Teachers’ Association, I participated in their conferences across Europe. I have prepared students for music exams at all levels, working with them on music theory, aural and sight reading skills, and regularly accompany students on the piano. As a performing musician, I perform internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, recently including at the Victoria Hall in Geneva, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and Philharmonie in Berlin. I’m a Tillett Trust and Villa Musica artist, winner of the Małopolska competition, Barbirolli Prize at the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition and Len Lickorish Memorial Prize at the Royal Overseas League International Strings Competition. I hold a masters degree with first class honours from the class of Tabea Zimmermann at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, and Bachelors with the same distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in London. * Reviews * Stephanie W. Toby is an outstanding instructor and works with children very naturally. My 11 year old son has been taking lessons with Toby for over two months and is eager for each lesson. Toby is extremely talented, but beyond that, he engages my son deeply with the music itself, fundamental techniques, music theory, and even the interpretation of the music. Toby is kind, encouraging, and works with students at a level that is appropriate. He has allowed my son to chose music that if fun and interesting to practice, even though the pieces are challenging. In fact, I often sit in to listen to the lessons, as they are so good. My son has had a couple of lessons with Toby while company has been over, and everyone has commented on how amazing Toby is as an instructor. I can not recommend Toby enough and hope to continue lessons with him for a long time. Pamela B. Toby is really a great teacher who teaches the pieces well and brings out more of the feeling in the playing. We particularly liked that. Good technique is one thing, but feeling the music is such an important element in music and learning a piece of music. He also teaches theory very well! Tatyana M. Toby is a fantastic teacher. He is very reliable as he is consistently organised and punctual. I constantly see progress in my child’s music skills because every lesson Toby delivers is effective and well-structured. I highly recommend him to all who wish to learn or improve on their music skills. Shaun W. Knowledgeable and frank, Toby was able to provide me with crucial information quickly and efficiently. Hanna S. Toby can explain things very well and understandably, is patient and friendly and easily adapts to the student's level. Jacques R. Toby is an excellent tutor with top teaching skills..he teaches music theory in a way my 12 year old son understands the lesson easily; Toby is very attentive

Coming from a family of violinists, first lessons with my father at 4 years old. Concert player passionate about transmission... professional experience: 20 years
Today, the violin has become one of the most popular and versatile of all musical instruments. Apart from classical, and, in France, gypsy swing, which remain his areas of predilection, he has introduced himself everywhere, into jazz, pop, electro, etc. However, at the beginning of the initiation, the basics remain more or less the same, in all styles. Everyone obviously has their own rhythm and these particular ambitions: I have students who practice for several hours every day, and others who only play once or twice a week, outside of class. I assume that almost anything is possible, provided you have the right learning methods. First, we will define, as precisely as possible, your objective. What style do you want to learn? Which artist inspires you and makes you want to learn the violin? What is your level of musicality, have you ever played the violin or other instruments? And finally, how much time do you want to devote to the violin? After having collected this information, I will offer you a suitable program, made up of technical exercises, training pieces, "objective" pieces, and also, which is often neglected, listening advice (such as when learning a language, you learn a lot by listening...). Also note that it is possible to play works that seem difficult, by tackling simplified versions. At the end of each course I send you a detailed report of what we have worked on, what has been accomplished and what remains to be worked on/corrected (without pressure, without stress, of course.. .;)) Teacher's presentation Coming from a family of violinists, I received my first violin lessons from my father at 4 years old. Now a graduate of the Amsterdam Conservatory and the CMDL Didier Lockwood, I have been giving violin lessons for around twenty years. Passionate about transmitting, I teach a wide variety of styles, classical, jazz, gypsy swing, Latin, gypsy and traditional music, film music... We look forward to accompanying you from the discovery of the instrument to your first concerts... See you soon ! Musically, Simon

Individual piano lessons from a Mozarteum student for passionate beginners and advanced players on the way to perfection
Welcome to my piano world, where the fun of learning is the focus! As a graduate of pedagogical training at the renowned Mozarteum, I have acquired a broad repertoire of teaching techniques and learning methods. This diversity allows me to tailor my lessons individually to each student. My lessons are designed for anyone who wants to experience playing the piano not just as a skill, but as a joyful, fun experience. It is very important to me that my students enjoy working on the instrument not only in class but also at home. For beginners, I recommend weekly sessions of 45 minutes (30 minutes for children) to lay a solid foundation. For advanced students, I customize the lessons to meet specific needs and goals.
